PM Modi Today, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) participants interacted virtually with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Aiming to fully implement government flagship schemes and ensure timely benefit delivery to all intended beneficiaries, the VBSY is a national initiative.

The Prime Minister spoke with Alpeshbhai Chandubhai Nizama, a Bharuch, Gujarat, resident who is a VBSY beneficiary and has ITI and hardware engineering certifications, during the meeting. About Alpeshbhai’s decision to go into agriculture, the Prime Minister asked questions. Alpeshbhai replied by saying he had decided to give up his work and take up farming on the 40 acres of his family’s ancestral land.

He emphasised how he used programmes run by the federal and state governments to obtain subsidised farming equipment and a subsidy of Rs 3 lakh for drip irrigation methods. The Prime Minister expressed his admiration for the revolutionary shift by saying, “At your age, I had no idea what a lakh rupees looked like, and you are talking about lakhs.” This is the modification.

PM Modi expressed satisfaction with the subsidies that Alpeshbhai received and urged him to impart his expertise in contemporary farming methods and machinery to other farmers.

Alpeshbhai expounded on his experience working on projects for the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) since 2008, during which he gained knowledge of various farming practices used in different states and regions. He mentioned with pride that he was presented with the ATMA Bharuch ‘Best Farmer Award’ in the Prime Minister’s presence.

 

The crowd erupted in enthusiastic applause when the PM Modi, observing Alpeshbhai’s daughter in the background, engaged her and encouraged her to lead a chant of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” As the conversation came to an end, the prime minister commended people like Alpeshbhai for serving as role models for young people pursuing careers in agriculture.

He promised farmers that conditions would be favourable from seed to market, highlighting the significance of updated methods, creativity, and fresh viewpoints. He emphasised the rise of educated youth in farming, pushed for drone use in farming, and asked farmers to get ready for the ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ vehicle’s grand arrival in the next five villages.
